ConnectMonitor does exactly what it implies:† It monitors your Acrobat Connect Pro deployment, and if there’s a problem, alerts you to the issue.† This is in its early days of development, so please don’t count on it as your only monitoring source (shame on you if you don’t have multiple methods in place…).† We would really appreciate your feedback and suggestions, so please fire away to michael at this domain dot com.
To install the application:
ConnectMonitor (Adobe AIR Required)
Here’s some FAQs on the application:
What Is It?
ConnectMonitor is a desktop application (uses Adobe AIR) that monitors your Acrobat Connect Pro deployment to ensure its availability.† If there is a problem, its status will change, and an alert will be played to notify you if you have it running in the background.
How does it work?
ConnectMonitor is a desktop application (Windows or Mac, maybe even Linux now…someone please confirm
, which you run (consider adding it to your programs to launch on startup) when connected to the internet.† ConnectMonitor then polls an entry-point into the Acrobat Connect Pro system to determine status (as recommended in the administration best-practices) every 20 seconds.† Based on the results, the status indicators are updated to reflect the availability of the system.† ConnectMonitor also posts these results to an application we’ve built on Google App Engine ( http://code.google.com/appengine/ ).† Our intent is to eventually provide sms and email alerts, as well as graphical charts on this data.† More on that to come…
How much does it cost?
$0.00 right now.† There may be pay-for services in the future, or not.
How do I get support?
This is an experiment/beta, so there isn’t any traditional support.† If you have an issue, or have feedback, please do send it along to michael at this domain dot com.
